2025 Kendo resolutions

A new year has begun.

Starting this year, I’ve decided to use more this ‘剣道Cat’blog to keep records of my kendo practices and to ramble on about my thoughts.

First of all, since it’s New Year’s Day, there’s no practice,

I’ve been thinking carefully about my kendo resolutions for year 2025.

I thought about it a lot, but realized that it would be impossible to do everything…

In the end, I narrowed it down to five (or rather, I haven’t narrowed it down enough…).

My Kendo Resolutions for 2025

🌸Resolution 1: Never miss practice. If I can’t practice for some reason, I will practice by watching (mitori-keiko).

🌸Resolution 2: Make a good kamae (left leg, left hand, center of gravity, balance, right hand, ki, posture, etc.) and then actually use it all the time!

🌸Resolution 3: Unselfconsciously hold and express fighting spirit.

🌸Resolution 4: Study and understand the meaning of ichi-byoshi no waza (Then, study and practice the principles of debana waza and oji waza)

🌸Resolution 5:Pass my next promotion exam

At our dojo, we practice for 90 minutes, Monday through Thursday, from 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM.

This year, 52 weeks x 4 days = 208 days, or 312 hours, I will do my best and not skip practice!

So,

I’m going to practice again tomorrow♪
