Hello!

Nice to meet you!

My name is Haru, also known as Kendo Cat.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog today!

First, let me introduce myself briefly.

I’m a girl cat who is around 10 years old in human years.

I was born and raised in Japan, but when I was six, I moved to Hawaii in the United States.

Then, when I was seven (kind of like “middle age” for a cat), I finally started kendo – something I had been wanting to do for a long time.

My practice schedule is four days a week—Monday through Thursday—from 7:00 to 8:30 in the morning.

I’m not exactly young anymore, but I hope to continue practicing kendo for as many days as I can.

Now, about this blog…

You won’t find any technical advice from high-ranking teachers, nor any philosophical discourse that sounds like it came from a college textbook. Hehe.

This is simply a place where an unknown kendo cat—noticed by no one in particular—writes down what she learns, feels, and thinks during her daily practices.

Sometimes I wonder if sharing a blog like this will actually help anyone.

But then I thought… maybe there are other kendo practitioners out there who struggle with the same thoughts and questions every day. So I decided to publish this blog. Honestly, I’m super nervous about it!

I’ve also set up a “Comment Dojo” below each blog post. If you’d like, I’d be very happy to hear your thoughts and feedback. (Since it’s a dojo, please remember to keep comments respectful!)

If you’d like to read posts on a particular topic, please check the sidebar on the right. Chudan-kun should have neatly organized the articles by category there.

I’ve sorted everything perfectly!

You can stop by my place anytime!

Well then—both my kendo and my blogging are still very much a work in progress, but I sincerely hope you’ll enjoy following along.

Best regards,
Haru the Kendo Cat
